Abortion Adoption
Each year, on average, 250,000 infants are aborted. Most teen mothers who chose abortion don't know what else to do. The thought of having a child when you yourself are still a child is terrifying. Most mothers will choose this route over adoption because you only have to carry the child for 12 weeks. In this case, most often mothers are not ready for the responsibility of a child and do not want to have their baby.

Approximately 750,000 teens become pregnant each year. From that, 1/3 have an abortion, 14% are miscarriages and 52% have their baby. From those 52% under 1% is put up for adoption. This number is half of those that are put up each year from mothers of all ages. Most mothers feel that they are unable to provide everything that their child needs. This form is also easier for some to carry out. Yes, the mothers must carry their babies the entire nine months, but still won't have the responsibility of raising the child.

Similarities
Both of these methods provide a way out of having the responsibility of a child. Although they are both "a way out" of being a mother, they are also hard to chose to do. Most women, when they carry a baby, have difficultly giving it up when it is born. Both of these methods have a desired outcome, and neither is easy to choose. Although these decisions are hard to make, sometimes they are necessary for the well being of the child or the mother.
