Symptoms of pregnancy
Pregnancy is a consuming process with plenty of obstacles. Some symptoms can be noticed as early as the first few weeks after conception. The big "red flag" for most women is a missed a period. If this occurs, a pregnancy test would be beneficial to see if you are pregnant, along with further education of the pregnancy process.
First Trimester
Pregnancy is split into three different trimesters. The first trimester takes place during the first 13 weeks of a pregnancy. The first symptoms of pregnancy occur during these weeks, however every woman is different and may experience different variations of symptoms. Tender or swollen breasts are common. They might feel heavier and fuller or sore and sensitive. Nausea (also referred to as morning sickness) is very common as well and can occur at any time throughout the day. Sometimes certain smells or scents will bother you that didn't before. Urination and food cravings will become more common as well. These first weeks are crucial to your baby's health and development. The baby's organ system and body structure are created in this time. During the first trimester is when most miscarriages occur.
Second Trimester
The next 14 to 26 weeks of pregnancy take place during the second trimester. This is also referred to the :golden period" due to the disappearance of symptoms. Your sleep patterns get better and your energy levels increase. around 16 to 20 weeks, you might feel your baby's first kicks or movement. Unfortunately a new set of symptoms might occur. Back pain, leg cramps, abdominal pain, heartburn and constipation are common during the second trimester.
Third Trimester
During the next 27 to 40 weeks are the final stretch of pregnancy. You might experience sleeping problems, urinary inconsistency, shortness of breath and varicose veins. Because of the expansion of your uterus, you would experience those odd side effects. If you experience spotting or bleeding, consult a doctor immediately. Mild contractions are normal and prepare you for giving birth. Real contractions are more intense and closer together. By this time in your pregnancy your breasts have grown as much as two pounds which can cause back pains. A supportive bra can help enormously. You will also notice a yellow substance leaking from your nipples when you get close to your due date. This will help to nourish your baby after he is born.
